Freedom to Focus

Small Church and NonProfit Leaders Are Exhausted (And What to Do About It)

You didn’t become a pastor to design slides at 11:42 p.m. You didn’t start your nonprofit to spend Saturdays resizing graphics. You didn’t launch your mission-driven business to scramble for captions between client calls. And yet — here you are. Not because you lack passion. Not because you lack discipline. But because somewhere along the way, visibility became another weight to carry.

A Just Calling - My Why

One of the reasons I named my business "A Just Calling" is because I feel called to share my skills so you can focus on your Calling.

I focus on small churches and nonprofits because I have worked for both. My experience has been that small churches and nonprofits who make it their mission to help people in their communities are many times helping those who are struggling with some kind of "poverty."

Bryan Stevenson, the founder of Equal Justice Initiative and author of Just Mercy wrote, "the opposite of poverty is not wealth; the opposite of poverty is justice." So many in our world are struggling with some kind of poverty - whether it be a lack of essential resources, opportunities, health, education, security, housing, social inclusion, etc. Churches and NonProfits should be doing the work of justice - the opposite of poverty (and not worrying about how to market themselves).

Justice means not only fairness in the law, but also equitible distribution of resources, opportunities, and priveleges for all people. While you work for justice - for the people - I will work to support you and your mission - your Calling.

The Hidden Cost of Doing It All

Small churches and small nonprofits, usually don’t have communications teams. You have volunteers. Or, let's face it. Sometimes you just have yourself. So, marketing and content creation become:

  • An afterthought.

  • A late-night task.

  • A stress cycle.

And slowly, you shift from mission-centered to maintenance-centered. You are still doing good work. But you’re exhausted.

My Calling is to Give You Freedom to Focus

I am here to help you tell your story. Your branding needs to tell a consistent story. Your social media doesn't have to feel chaotic. I can help make sure your events are clearly communicated. Most importantly, together, we will make sure your messaging reflects your values.

This way you can return to what matters most:

  • Conversations.

  • Community.

  • Vision.

  • Shepherding.

  • Serving.

  • Building.

What It Looks Like to Work Together

If you’ve never outsourced creative work before, you might wonder, “But how would this actually work?”

Every project with A Just Calling begins with a Discovery Meeting. This is where we slow down and get clear:

  • What are your goals?

  • What does success look like?

  • Who is your audience?

  • What is the timeline?

  • What deliverables do you actually need?

This conversation matters. It ensures we’re not just creating something that looks good — we’re creating something that serves your mission. I will listen, and together, we will make a plan that fits your budget and your needs.

From there, I begin developing concepts and putting together thoughtful design plans for you to review.

We then meet again for a Review Session, where you’ll see the first round of ideas and designs. You’ll have space to respond, ask questions, and refine. The number of review rounds depends on your needs — this is collaborative, not rushed.

After incorporating your feedback, I make the necessary adjustments and finalize the project.

Finally, we meet one more time for the Final Presentation. I walk you through everything so you feel confident using your materials. I won’t leave you floundering or guessing how to open files or use them across platforms. You’ll know exactly how your assets work and how to implement them.

The goal isn’t just to hand you graphics. The goal is to give you clarity, alignment, and breathing room.

So, what do you say? Are you ready to have the Freedom to Focus? Not sure? You read this far for a reason. Let's figure it out together...
